So you may have noticed that Europe based Australian composer Anthony Pateras has quietly taken matters into his own hands and started releasing music from some of his various projects on his own Immediata label. We’ve reviewed Entertainment = Control and THYMOLPHTHALEIN, and have a couple more coming up in the next few weeks. But in the meantime enjoy his excerpt from Switch on a Dime. This one features Pateras and Erik Griswold on prepared piano and Robin Fox on AudioMulch/Optronics/Virtualizer.
Releasing limited editions of 300, the Immediata project will conclude in 2017 after reaching 15 releases. All Immediata albums are beautifully presented in thick recycled cardboard with silver hot stamped text on the front, containing an extensive booklet featuring interviews with each album’s personnel.
We have of course interviewed Pateras a couple of times. Most recently last year. You can read that here.
He’s also coming back to Melbourne this month:
13/6: Church of All Nations, Carlton, electric violin/pipe organ duo with Erkki Veltheim
16/6: Melbourne Recital Centre, Southbank, North of North ( trio with Scott TInkler & Erkki Veltheim)
15/7: Moreland Band Hall, Brunswick, North of North CD Launch ‘The Moment In and Of Itself’ in Immediata
18/7: Church of All Nations, Carlton, piano/bass clarinet duo with Anthony Burr (USA)
