Seahawks have gathered quite a following, especially on the live scene, like My Bloody Valentine with an injection of indie pop sensibilities, with a new release on Static Caravan. It all seems too good to be true, one of the best looking vinyl picture discs I have seen in a long time, evoking visions of stoner/prog/psych rock, with erupting volcano, big green seas, flying saucers, astral sailing ships, and deep sea colour. Limited numbers of the release include a free mixed CD for your aural pleasure.
Two tasty cuts, “High Tides†and “Astral Windsâ€, both a great mixture of stoner/drone rock with pop leanings, kind of like Tarentel in a happy mood, dreamy and drifting soundscapes, with subtle melodies. The mixed CD is altogether a different beast, almost touching on dance beats, before slipping back into dream pop and Isan style electronic trickery.
