Skream! - Watch The Ride

A new release as part of the Harmless Watch The Ride mix CD series, bought to you by the young dubstep prodigy Skream. Ranging from the dubbed out, to the steppers cuts, this mix is probably one of Skreams most coherent, seamlessly mixing in 28 tracks from himself, DLX, Mala, Benni Page & Zero G, Hit N Run, Noah D & No Thing, Seven, Smut, Benga, Kutz, Kulture, Rusko, Jakes, Babylon System, Breakage, TC, Black Ganion, Rufige Kru, and Late.

Skream has mainly selected tracks with his trademark synth stab progressions, which give this mix its common thread, with the odd vocal here and there, never falling into the formulaic dubstep being churned out at the moment. Lets face it, over an hour of wobble bass gets very repetitive, but Skream’s selections are varied enough to avoid this. While I haven’ been blown away by Skream’s last few records, the ones he’ included here sit well, pulling it back to a skank, but then again I find a lot of dubstep works much better in the mix format, constantly shifting and morphing, never allowing the listener to become bored.
