Oppressed By the Line – Soft Focus (Drifting Falling)

Indietronics, there I labeled it, is the review over?

Seriously though, fans of the ever increasing domain of the electronic and indie music fusion will find Oppressed by the Line’ Soft Focus a gem. Catherdral sharp pins of optic colour, glitched out drum beats, shimmering guitar, swirling electronic signitures and washes of organlike sound establish a bright reverence to sound that is hallmark to this genre. The tone of bright melancholy echoes thoughout with a deft melodic touch and an emphasis on sonic delight. OBTL (Jon Thompson) obtained his monika after a quote under a painting by Yves Kleine, “I adopt the cause of the colour oppressed by the line”. Make of this what you will, Kleine, a prominent Dadaist with a preference for the sky and the colour blue suggests the heights to which Jon Thomspson pitches his music towards.
