Ok so the title has got you already, allusions to Occult lost land of lemuria, may have you running for cover, away from the Blavatsky clones, imbibing what may seem like wisdom but most likely is pure bunk. However the album is bright shiny psychedelic hip-hop full of excellent breaks, handclaps, reverse beats and clever samples. Sometimes the deft hand on the modulator overplays into a distorted and warped sense of exotica that is the world of Lone (Matt Cutler). Imagine hip hop on a desert island with David Toops Exotica in hand and way too much mind expansion, samplers, Drum machines and other imagined pleasures of this version of paradise. It is definitely not a floor dj’s idea of an album, if the mung zone of the chill out were still a reality it would find willing listeners totally in awe of the precision with which Lone describes their mind state.
