Keith Fullerton Whitman – Track 4 (2 Way Superimposed) (Room40)

0

He’ just left our shores but US experimental artist Keith Fullerton Whitman’ Track 4 (2 Way Superimposed) will have you begging for his return. A single track clocking in at just over twenty one minutes, he operates predominantly in the bottom end of the frequency spectrum, offering an incredible feeling of serenity and warmth. The easiest link would be some of the gentler moments of his recent Lisbon effort, yet it’s also a very different creature. There doesn’ seem to be any easily identifiable trajectory per se, yet the piece does move, albeit under the radar. With washes of atmospheric tones wrapped around some repetitcious digital hicupping, it shouldn’ work, but there’ a certain peaceful assuredness that carries it through. Released to coincide with his tour this is a ridiculously limited release.
