One of our favourite Melbourne musicians thereminist / electronic artist Miles Brown launches his new single “Apparition”, the next taster from his upcoming debut solo album “Séance Fiction” which will be released this September on It records / Death Waltz Originals. You might remember his Cyclic Selects he did for us a while back, where he discussed killer synth lines in Bananarama songs and how he wished he was a memeber of the B-52s.
“Following the release of his debut 7” “Electrics” in early 2014, the rest of the year was taken up by his band The Night Terrors‘ two album releases (Spiral Vortex and Pavor Nocturnus: Composition for Grand Organ, Theremin, Electronics and Percussion).
2015 is the time for Brown’s dark wave solo project to take centre stage again. “Apparition” is a slow burning minimal-synth-meets-gothic-disco electro pop monster, and offers another glimpse into the future from his long awaited debut solo record “Séance Fiction”.
The album is due in September and will be a co-release between Melbourne’s It records and Death Waltz Originals, the new specialist original music imprint by horror soundtrack reissue legends Death Waltz Recording Company.
To celebrate the single launch Miles has gathered together a huge bill of some of his most talented DJ friends for one massive dark electronic dance party at New Guernica on Friday the 10th of July.
Joining him on decks will be the incomparable Jonnine Standish of HTRK, the ever fantastic Nun DJs, dark techno overlord Jake Blood and Melbourne’s favourite techno party queen DJ Kiti. What a huge lineup! Grab your tickets early to avoid disappointment.”
