Tonight we feature three longish tracks from Richard Devine who plays his only Sydney show at Frigid on Sunday – and its free entry!
With album releases on Warp, Schematic and Sublight, Devine has been making some pretty twisted electronic music for many years now. His albums veer from intricate beat programming and spiky sounds to ambient pieces and he did the Come To Daddy remix for Aphex Twin on Warp’s 10+3 remix package as well as audio and programming for Nine Inch Nails. On top of his music he is a professional sound designer and has done a lot of work with commercials, film and more recently video games doing the sound design work for Halo2, Dawn Of The Dead and also all the sound design for the new Xbox 360. Both Native Instruments and Ableton have commissioned custom presets from him for their software and several hardware manufacturers have done the same.
