Memory II showcases something new from Sydney based pianist and composer Sophie Hutchings – voice, with the piece seeing her leading a choir of voices. Hutchings says Memory II ‘portrays a lucid dream, the senses running through an imaginary world until you wake and everything that felt real actually isn’t’.
The third album from Hutchings, Wide Asleep, was recorded by Tim Whitten (The Necks) and features cellist Peter Hollo (Tangents, Four Play) throughout. . Hutchings is a pianist and composer, renowned for her gorgeous modern classical works. Here is a review of her 2010 album Becalmed. And here is an interview we did with her that same year.
The album will be launched in both Sydney and Melbourne alongside Melbourne pianist and composer Luke Howard:

Thursday September 22 – Paris Cat, Melbourne
