friendships are Nic Brown & Misha Grace, an audio/visual duo currently based in Melbourne, Australia. Their sonic landscape is bass heavy and draws on tribal influences that mix with drum + bass and alternative electronica. This engrossingly dark sound is coupled with a visual component that throws large scale, dark and brooding visual imagery over stages when performed live. The visual art side of friendships is as equally as strong and commanding as their music and the duo regularly exhibit visual work in gallery spaces.

The past two years has seen friendships develop internationally, with highlights being supporting Erykah Badu & Thundercat at Low End Theory in Los Angeles and a sold out show at iconic New York venue Pianos. In Australia, they have supported Purity Ring, Shigeto, Mark Pritchard, RL Grime, and Sinjin Hawke.

friendships’ new album ‘Nullabor 1988-1989’ is out September 30 on Dot Dash / Remote Control.
