Watch a whole concert of Bogota’s eccentric Meridian Brothers

0

Formed in 1998 in Bogota Colombia, Meridian Brothers are a tropical psychedelic outfit that began as a solo project of composer Eblis Alvarez, where he would experiment with cassettes, electronics and strange ways of playing instruments. Whilst the experiments did not diminish, he did find some friends, and now he is joined by Maria Valencia (saxophone, clarinet, percussion and synthesizers), Damian Ponce (Percussion), Cesar Quevedo (bass) and Alejandro Forero (electronics and synthesizers).

Whilst their recordings, on Soundway and Discrepant are bizarre, beautiful at times quite poppy weirdness, this video demonstrates that their live performance is truly out of this world. All we can say is keep watching, it’s worth it.
