It comes from the limited album At the Salt Museum (Shame File Music) by Ren Walters, Clinton Green, & Michael McNab and it documents their time camping at Murray Sunset National Park in northern Victoria, Australia in December 2015. It’s quite a textural percussive recording, and it’s fascinating to say the least.
This is what they have to say about the recording:
“During our time there, we sounded various sites and performed ritualistic actions. This album documents our sounding of the rusted salt harvesting machinery we discovered at the outdoor ‘salt museum’ on the shore of the Lake Crosbie saltpan.”
