Enjoy this killer three part mix of concious hip hop from 1988-94 by MC Raceless from Melbourne eccentric hip hop legends Curse Ov Dialect.

About the mix he says the songs are political and/ or heavily layered with lots of scratching. “To me all the music represents my own personal feelings of what real hip hop is – a tool for social change, a soundwall of emotion.”

Part 1 features Eric B and Rakim, Da Lench Mob, Intelligent Hoodlum and our editor’s new favourite Hard Knocks.

If you want to know more about his day job, you can read an interview we did with Curse Ov Dialect here. And you can find their latest album Twisted Strangers here. And their back catalogue here.

The second mix gives us the likes of Sleek Tha Elite, Gunshot, Professor X, Freddie Fox and Son of Bazerk And The No Self Control Band, featuring tracks from the US, UK, Germany and Australia.

The third dips into French, Australia and lots of UK stuff as well as the US tunes. He even manages to slip in a Curse track.

And keep an eye on his mixcloud page because he’s promising more mixes. If you’ve listened to Curse Ov Dialect you’ll understand that anything is possible.
