Impov Idol returns in 2016 – Who will be the King or Queen of Melbourne Improvisation?

0

A talent show for improvising musicians, last year’s Improv Idol featured 8 contestants battling it out in a series of group improvidations. By all accounts it was a ridiculous amount of fun, with the audience eventually voting for trumpeter Gemma Horbury.

“Gemma was the Guy Sebastian of Australian improvisation,” offers organiser Clinton Green in their press release, “this year we are looking for our Casey Donavan.”

So that’s right, Improv Idol has a commenced a callout for all improvisers to become a contestant in Melbiurne. They’re looking for improvising musicians of any and all backgrounds, experience, and abilities – particularly those with a sense of fun and adventure.

Entries close at midnight Friday 2 September. You can read the rules and regulations here. Or you can simply attend to witness the mayhem on Thursday 29 September at the Wesley Anne in Northcote.
