As you may already be aware, the amazing Sydney based FBI radio show Ears Have Ears, who regularly ask interesting and experimental local and international artists to contribute exclusive soundscapes to their show, began a monthly series of live performances. In previous months they’ve hosted Severed Heads, Half High, Marcus Whale, Nic Warnock, Pia Van Gelder, and Kate Hennessy.
The final Ears Have Ears Live with feature Alaska Orchestra and Rainbow Chan, on Thursday June 30th at FBI. You can find more info here.

About the Artists:
Alaska Orchestra is an eclectic, ever-evolving ensemble, inspired by the avant garde music of downtown New York during the late 60’s/early 70’s and driven by musician, composer and artist Megan Alice Clune.
Formed in 2013 as part of the ‘Musical Alaska’ nights at Alaska Projects, the orchestra has featured a long list of popular Sydney experimental musicians – including Tom Smith (T.Morimoto, Thomas William), Jonathan Baker (Anatole) and Corin Ileto (CORIN). Alaska Orchestra’s current line up is Megan Alice Clune (clarinet, organ), Adam Guzowski (guitar) and Hugh Deacon (drums, laptop).
Alaska Orchestra will be performing an original soundtrack called ‘The Oloid’, inspired by the shape discovered by Paul Schatz in 1929.
Sydney’s multidisciplinary artist Rainbow Chan will lead an in-depth discussion after the performance. Originally from Hong Kong, Rainbow Chan is an experimental pop singer, producer and regular collaborator with Alaska Orchestra. She won FBi’s Northern Lights competition in 2011, giving her the chance to play at Iceland Airwaves Festival, and has since spoken at FBi’s Music Open Day and EMC. Chan teaches contemporary music practice and casually lectures at the University of Sydney.
