Clinton Green, Greg Wadley, Kate Neal, Sean Baxter and Alexander Garsden recently hosted a one off More Talk, Less Action in Melbourne, exploring the question: What does it mean to be a composer in Australia today? They asked themselves difficult questions like where does composition stop and improvisation begin in an age of open-ended and graphical scores? And how software, new instruments and the Internet impact on composition and what is composed? They also focussed on the challenges composers face, and offered advice to anyone contemplating life as a composer?

You can listen to the talks here.

Enjoy Melbourne improviser Sean Baxter’s highly textured percussion work.
