Check out the cosmic synth of Niger artist Mamman Sani Abdoulaye playing his smash hit, Salamatu. Recently two volumes of his work have been re released on the intriguing Portland label Sahel Sounds. Features Editor Bob Baker Fish recently caught up with label owner Chris Kirkley for an extensive interview where he discussed his relationship with Mdou Moctar, the dangers of travelling in the Sahel and his film, Purple Rain in the Sahara.
