A compilation album of twenty five one minute pieces that tend to move seamlessly into each other. It could be taken as a kind of pastiche of variations of the yoga position, salute to the sun, except in musical form. However blithe this comment may seem and it conveys the idea of sun worship is an anachronism. By contrast the music is quite contemporary; ambient, electro-acoustic and post rock forms, lashings of environmental recordings included. All have a sense of elevated sensibility, of willingness to experiment and play with form and materials in the brief foray the space allows. The tracks have been compiled well and work almost as a mix album, slightly at odds with the inclination of the domain, which tends towards other than entertainment which is the main purpose of the dj mix concept. Artists include Alexander Navarro, D’Incise, Fax, Offthesky, Cubenx and they may be familiar to people who have dipped their ears into the netlabel realm.
