Along with our regular coterie of new releases from old friends like Stereolab and Wire, we pay particular attention this week to a cassette only compilation which came out in Switzerland in 1987 – “The Sampling Sampler – Synthetische Klänge aus der Schweiz”. Curated by Reto Caduff of electronic pop outfit Séance, this was to serve as a synthetic antidote to the wave of psychedelic pop rock acts springing up in the mid-80s.
We also join LA-based Lucky Dragons in their play pen of rocks, snakes and electric toys.
