Monk Fly - An Afternoon With Camilla

Monk Fly has been creating worthy underground rumbles over recent years, starting with his involvement in the Elefant Traks collective, then setting up his own The Frequency Lab initiative, giving artists affordable performance, recording and exhibiting space.

His latest release, An Afternoon With Camilla, is released on 12” vinyl and digital download, full to the brim with dubbed out goodness, subtle and intricate melodies, and the soulful vocals of Camilla Hill. Not one to follow the crowd, Monk Fly has weaved a beautiful dub tapestry, part Rhythm & Sound, part Nu Dub Players, part Fat Freddy’s Drop, with a subtle steppers undercurrent, but never launching into predictable steppers/dubstep territory. Camilla Hill’s voice sits perfectly with Monk Fly’s production, creating a soulful and haunting ep worth checking out. Contains instrumentals of the two vocal tracks, ripe for emerging dubstep producers to bring this to the dancefloor. www.thefrequencylab.com
