Dr Lisa MacKinney is a historian and musician (guitar and organ) based in Melbourne, Australia. Past and current musical projects include Taipan Tiger Girls, Hospital Pass, Super Luminum and Mystic Eyes. MacKinney's PhD thesis is the first ever book-length study of New York pop group the Shangri-Las.
