Monocorpse is a Dutch project that blends (post-)techno, ritual and industrial sounds into spine chilling soundtracks for occult nighttime sessions. ‘964 Old Topanga Canyon Rd’ is a track from their forthcoming EP Cease To Exist.

If you’re interested in the title it’s the address of a crime scene on the July 31, 1969 when police found the body of Gary Hinman, and on the wall printed in his blood were the words “Political Piggy”. Hinman was a music teacher/professional student who opened his doors to anyone passing through the area in need of shelter. He had befriended the Manson family, and at various times let members live in his home.

Other titles on the EP include 12000 Santa Susana Pass Rd, the address of a movie ranch who’s owner let the Manson Family move in and live on the ranch rent-free in exchange for labor. You can listen to that track here. This should give you a flavour of what to expect from this EP.

This is what the label has to say about these bleak austere themes, and sounds:

“While the first EP “Ceremonie Caille” was thematically centred around voodoo… this new EP stays closer to home while taking its theme from The Family… and in that line the first video was edited… for the truly interested I do not need to explain this video footage and all… and for the non-informed it is a nice starting point to get into this record and the theme behind it…”

It’s due to drop in early/mid July as part of a new EP released on Gooiland Elektro…
