Western Skies Motel – Whirl (Official Music Video) from Lost Tribe Sound on Vimeo.

Danish guitarist René Gonzàlez Schelbeck makes music under the alias Western Skies Motel. His music is sparse and peaceful, with a unique cyclical guitar style that appears to pay homage to the dry arid landscape of the American West.

In fact it’s pastoral, wide open spaces feel caught the ear of Arizona based label Lost Tribe Sound (Mute Forest/ William Ryan Fritch), who will be releasing his Lp in April. The LP Settlers, features some incredible evocative artwork (see above) from the ancestors of label head Ryan Keane (who you may remember from his work in Tokyo Bloodworm).

We’ve been listening to a sneaky promo of the album and it is a remarkable, sparse and hypnotic experience. Truly a beautiful work. So we thought we’d share Whirl.
