You might know Australian pianist Chris Abrahams from his instrumental trio The Necks, though he has also been active in various improvised musical ensembles using organs, synthesizers and various keyed instruments over the years, and has released three previous solo editions via Lawrence English’s excellent Room40 imprint. His new album Fluid To The Influence is due to drop on the 8th of April, and as huge fans of his work, Cyclic is pleased to present his new video for an extremely meditative soundscape, ‘Scale Upon The Land.’ If this track is any indication of the album to follow, then we’re in for a real treat.

You can check out our review for his previous work Play Scar here.

In discussing his new album Room40 suggests “Abrahams charts out a divergent course through lilting piano flows, distended organ passages, thunderous electronic eruptions and focused concréte explorations,” so perhaps this is one of the more gentle moments.

You get to find out on April 9, though you can pre order and find more information here.
